We strive for inquiry and project-based solutions at the juncture of food, environmental and social justice. We utilize existing and planned school grounds to to develop programs in outdoor environmental education for mindful and sustainable living. Our goal is to build a healthier community by integrating, educating and serving students and community members, especially low income and marginalized people, in collaboration with numerous partner organizations with common interests.

Having a garden at school is a great resource to have. In the cafeteria they can always have fresh vegetables/fruits.
There's always things to grow. One time for second period we went out to pick peppers and other things. It felt good to help out. And now I actually know that the garden is in use. There's always something growing also things to do in the garden
I think that Dewitt Clinton having its own garden is a brilliant idea. It shows how the school it taking action to become a sustainable school, which, at the end, demonstrates its vale in sustaining it's own environment. Planting and growing different plants and vegetables teaches the students how vital fresh food is in the world. Students will also attain how the life of farmers is like.People will get to learn the various types of vegetables that they are able to grow and sustain a garden and the necessary steps to take in order it is grown into a healthy state of being. Overall, this garden will be a great influence for everyone at Dewitt Clinton High School.
